PROGRESSION MAP

L'Alliance Française de Leeds offers 4 skills French classes as well as conversation lessons at all ability levels.

Our level groups as well as their progression are defined according to the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR). Our 4 skills classes are designed to develop the reception (listening/reading) and production (speaking/writing) skills of our students as well as their cultural knowledge. Our Conversation Classes mainly focus on listening and speaking.

Once you have taken the test, please refer to the progression map on the left side of this page in order to decide which course you should register to. Please be aware that the online test tends to “overestimate” your level and that if you are hesitating between two courses, it would be better to go one level down. If you are not sure about you speaking level, you can contact us at admin@afleeds.org.uk to arrange for a speaking test.
